Ventura GOP Chair: “The Silence from Ventura County Congressmembers is Deafening”

July 11, 2024

Thousand Oaks, Calif. – Ventura GOP Chairman John Andersen issued the following statement today:

Recently, President Biden looked dazed and confused when he debated former President Donald Trump. Following that disastrous performance, President Biden tried to prove to voters that he’s capable of serving another four years by sitting down for an interview with Democrat-mouthpiece-turned-journalist George Stephanopolous. This week, when asked if Biden can serve another four years, Stephanopolous said he doesn’t think so.

“This afternoon, while introducing Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President Biden mistakenly called the Ukrainian President ‘President Putin.’ That’s strike three!

“Then, in his press conference this afternoon, President Biden referred to Vice President Kamala Harris as ‘Vice President Trump.’ How much more evidence is needed for everyone to understand that Joe Biden is not up for the job of President of the United States?

“Frankly, as an American, I think it is sad and disheartening to see the deterioration of our President, but it also leaves me asking some very important questions.

“Through the past few weeks, where exactly have Ventura County’s Democrat Congressmembers been?

"The silence from these US Representatives on this issue has been quite deafening.

“Why haven’t Congressmembers Julia Brownley, Brad Sherman and Salud Carbajal stood up to admit what every American who’s paying attention knows: President Biden is incapable of running the country and needs to step aside as the Democrats’ nominee for President?

“If Congressmembers Brownley, Sherman and Carbajal cannot or will not stand up and ask the important question which is ‘Who’s running our country?’, how can the voters of Ventura County trust them to take the right actions for the nation?

“America cannot stand four more years of Joe Biden’s decline and Ventura County voters cannot stand two more years of this lack of leadership from Julia Brownley, Brad Sherman or Salud Carbajal.

“I urge voters in our county to join me in supporting the election of their Republican opponents Michael Koslow, Larry Thompson and Thomas Cole. There is no reason for anyone to vote for any Democrat this November."
